Ribeye Steak

Ribeye gets its name from the ‘eye’ in the middle of the Steak. It’s a cut that comes from the lightly worked rib section of the cow, which makes it wonderfully tender, and yet robustly flavoured and juicy at the same time. Rib eye steak is flavourful and tender with a rich marbled fat and is best cooked to at least medium-rare or medium. This allows time for the fat to melt for maximum flavour and succulence. Ribeye Steak is a perfect match for highly-flavoured sauces, such as Peppercorn and Chimichurri, but also goes exceptionally well with compound butters. Our particular favourite is a Chipotle Garlic Butter. Ribeye Steak is also exceptionally suited to both Chinese and Japanese cuisine, particularly when teamed with their bold sauces, such as Black Bean and Sesame, or Teriyaki. This particular steak is essentially our “every day” steak. It’s not quite prestigious enough to serve to guests, but it is perfect for when you want a Steak for lunch or dinner, but you don’t want to break the bank! We particularly recommend this Steak for Stir Fry’s, a quick Steak and Chips for dinner or even everyone’s favourite yummy lunchtime treat…Steak Sandwich!
